100 Years of T.S. Eliot’s The Wasteland

We would like to draw your attention to the event hosted by The English Department.
April may be the cruellest month, but December marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land. The English Department will be hosting an event to mark the centenary of this landmark of twentieth-century poetry.
Bring your copy of the poem and read along, or simply watch and enjoy, as we play Fiona Shaw’s award-winning recital (directed by Deborah Warner) of the text. Afterwards, hear from a range of staff and postgraduate students offering their accounts of encountering Eliot’s masterpiece. Borrel refreshments will be provided.
